"Murder on the Orient Express" is a detectiveAgatha Christie's novel in which the famousDetective Hercule Poirot investigates a murder that took place on a luxury train traveling from Istanbul to Calais. 
 
The victim is the American millionaire Ratchett, who is murdered in his compartment. Poirot, finding himself on the train, takes up the case and begins interrogating the passengers, each of whom turns out to be connected to Ratchett's past. During the investigation, Poirot uncovers many secrets and motives, and ultimately comes to an unexpected conclusion: all the passengers were involved in the murder, as they were seeking justice for a crime committed by Ratchett in the past. 
 
The novel raises questions of morality and justice, and shows how difficult it can be to determine what is right and what is wrong.
